Halloween Time

Halloween was so much fun! I think it is more fun when you have a child to dress up and take trick or treating! Ashlyn was a little Fairy Pirncess. We went trick or treating with my sister and her kids, and my brother and his kids, we had a great time they all looked so cute in their costumes. She wasn't sure what all the fuss was about, but when we started going door to door and people kept giving her candy it didn't take her long to catch on. Pretty soon she was wanting to walk by herself and hold her bucket by herself, she carried her bucket like she carries her purses, almost on her shoulder, and she would excitedly "run" to each house. It was so so cute to see! She started to sing and giggle while we where walking to each house. I could tell she was having the time of her life. I remember looking down at her and thinking "This is what life is all about!!!" It was so much fun to see the joy on her face everytime someone gave her candy. Although she wanted to eat it as soon as they put it in her bucket and it didn't make her very happy when I told her no. I did give her some to pacify her but after that all she wanted to do was eat the candy. She had a blast and so did I. Unfortunately, Matt was hunting and he wasn't able to come with us.
On Friday night Matt and I went to a Halloween Party at our friends, Jarvis and Mandi's house. Matt went as Austin Powers and I went as his "lady". Matt did a really good job getting into the character. He was always saying "Groovy Baby"!! It was so funny. We also won the Costume contest, which I was really surprised about because there were some really great costumes there. We ate and played some fun games we were there until about 12:30 am. We had an awesome time.

Ashlyn loved carrying her own bucket!

ASHLYN'S 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

We were camping in the Beaver Mountains for Ashlyn's birthday. It was my family reunion. She loved the mountains and playing in the dirt, even though I didn't let her play in it much. : ) We just decided to lay a blanket out and let her have her party right there with all of her cousins. She wasn't real interested at first but once she realized what it was about she got pretty excited. She loved ripping the paper off of her presents. I think she liked that more than the gift itself. (but isn't that always the case!!) She got some clothes, a play cell phone, a walking/ riding toy, and some books. She also got a soft pink blanket and a little laptop computer thing that plays music from Grandma and Grandpa Albrecht. She got some really cute clothes from Uncle Blair and Aunt Vanessa. She was pretty spoiled I think.
My mom and I made her little rocking horse cake. It turned out better than I thought, I was pretty proud of it! ;) She wasn't quite sure what she was supposed to do with it, so I helped her get a handful and she started eating. She got a few handfuls on her own, but mostly she picked up the smaller crumb pieces and ate those. She was having a blast though, if you can't tell by the pictures. She would eat one handful and then the other, then she would pick little crumbs up and eat them, then she would lick her fingers and go back for more. I think she had a good time!
Ashlyn is walking now and tearing my house apart as fast as she can. She loves to dance, talk on the phone, read books, eat, swim, and sing songs. She is very very busy and hard to keep up with. I still can't believe she is 1 already, I can't believe how fast time goes by. It seems like yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital, so tiny and precious. She has brought so much joy, love, and happiness in our home. I can't remember what it was like before her. We love her so much and are so grateful for such a wonderful daughter!!!!!!

She kept lifting her leg up like this we couldn't figure out why. It was so funny!!

She loved her cake!

Matt was giving her a ride in the bike, she absolutely loved it.

At the parade in Minersville with Aunt Natalie.

Showing us how big she is.

This was in Hurricane at the Parade with cousin Bailee.

Getting ready to race, (crawl race). She didn't go anywhere at first then daddy threw his phone out for a bribe and away she went.

Ashlyn eating the candy she picked up at the Minersville parade, of course we didn't let her eat it but I let her pretend.

Ashlyn and Grandma Bonnie. Ashlyn Loves her Grandma

Ashlyn picking up candy they threw, after that she started picking up rocks and eating them. I guess she didn't understand the difference. : )

Our little family!

Fourth of July Fun!

We were able to celebrate the 4th of July in Minersville and Hurricane. Minersville celebrated theirs on Saturday and Hurricane celebrated theirs on Monday, so it worked out for us to be with both families this year. We had so much fun both places. We enjoyed double the parades, dinners, festivities, and best of all fireworks!!! Matt played in the annual fourth of July softball game. They won by a long ways. He had a blast and I had fun watching him play.

Summertime

Ashlyn will be eleven months next week, she is a handful. I am chasing her around all day, she loves to get into her lotion drawer and eat the lotion. She is walking along furniture and climbing on anything she can, she is getting brave and starting to let go of the furniture to stand up. I don't think I'm ready for her to walk yet! She loves to blow kisses, and she is really good at it. The other day she was looking at a picture of Jesus I had on the walk so I picked her up and pointed to him and said "Jesus Loves You" right when I said that she blew him 2 kisses it was so cute. When she wakes up in the morning she will blow us a kiss. She loves to say hi, she will say hi to her dad when he gets home from work, and she says hi to herself in the mirror. She is starting to throw fits when she doesn't get what she wants or I take something away from her. She is quite the jabber box as well.
We went to Kolob to camp with Matt's family. We had a great time, Aslyn loved it. She liked being outside all the time and with all of her cousins. We also went to a rodeo last weekend, we went with mine and Matt's parents. We had a fun time, although it got kind of long.
Matt is taking a summer class. He will be going back to school full time in the fall. He is staying extremely busy with his class, work, softball, scouts, and family. He is such a hard worker and I appreciate all he does for Ashlyn and I . We got to celebrated his first father's day, he is such a good dad. He loves Ashlyn so much and he takes such good care of her. She loves him she gives him big hugs when he gets home from work. I'm so blessed to have a husband that loves kids and who wants to be the best father ever. Which he is!

She climbed in the suit case and was just sitting their, this was of her climbing out.

I Love This One!

Her cousin Aiden was giving her a ride in his dump truck he was good for a minute then he dumped her out. It was pretty funny.

I was doing the dishes and I turned my back on her for one second when I turned around she was up on the door, she loves to climb on stuff.

I thought this was a cute picture of her, she is always smiling.

An Update on Our Life

Ashlyn just turned 9 months old! I can't believe how time flies she is very active and lots of fun. Matt and I don't know what our lives would be like without her, she has brought so much joy and happiness to our family. Ashlyn is now cruising around crawling on all fours now, she started to really crawl about a 2 weeks ago and she is getting really fast. She can get pretty much anywhere she wants, she will crawl behind her Dad's chair or under her saucer toy and get stuck then she gets really mad and starts to scream until we get her out. Ashlyn always has a smile on her face, people comment on how happy of a baby she is! She is also pulling herself up to things; couches, chairs, drawers, beds, pretty much anything she can hold onto to stand up. She knows how to curl her tongue and blow air and spit through it. It is so funny,......... well until I feed her cereal and she spits it at me, I don't find that too funny. : ) She also loves to rip paper apart, she rips it until it is really small then she sticks it in her mouth. She loves to put anything and everything she finds in her mouth I hate that, I 'm always pulling something out of her mouth. The other day I found a jack sticker in her mouth I'm sure that would have been pleasant to swallow and digest. : o She is starting to say Mamamama, she was only saying dadadadada for the longest time so I'm happy she is a least sounding like she is saying Mama. Ashlyn loves to play peekaboo she pulls the blanket over her face then pulls it off and we say "Peekaboo" She does it over and over, She is also starting to clap her hands when we sing Patty cake. It is so fun to watch her grow and learn. Ashlyn loves books she will sit and play with her books for hours, she loves to open and shut the pages ( she likes to eat them too), and she loves it when Mom and Dad read to her. We are having so much fun with her, her personality is really starting to show. She loves to dance with her Dad she will giggle and get a huge grin on her face when he picks her up and dances around it is so cute to see.
Matt has been busy with work, softball, little league baseball, scouts, and family. Not specifically in that order! :) He is playing on a softball team with my brother in St. George and they have been doing really well in the league they are in. It is the tournament this week so we will see how it ends up. We are going to play in an all night co-ed tournament this weekend I'm excited to play, but I'm not excited about staying up all night to play. It should be lots of fun though!
As far as I go, I just got done playing on a volleyball team with a bunch of friends from high school, we had a great time I'm kind of sad it's over. I am really excited about the warmer weather, it has been soooo nice here lately I wish it would stay like this and not get any hotter, but I know better. I'm excited to go swimming, camping, picnicing, hiking, the list goes on and on. I'm extremely excited because I missed out on some of that stuff last summer since I was humongous and pregnant! ; ) But now we have a sweet little baby to share those fun things with!!

Aren't babies so cute when they sleep?

I thought it was cute how she was waving to the camera.

I wanted to see how long her hair was....Pretty long for a 7 month old I think. ;)

Daddy's little cubs fan. She didn't want to take it off, she was holding it on her head. It was so funny.

Ashlyn Helping Daddy Drive

This was her Christmas Dress. This was the best picture I had of it.

She loves the Bath, but she hates the lotion and dressing after, I guess we got her at a good moment.

Her first time eating solids! What a mess!!!

Mommy feeding her solids. Yum Yum!

Lots has happened since I posted last so I'm just going to write a few of the high point. Ashlyn started eating solid foods in the middle of January. It took her a while to figure out how to eat from a spoon, but she sure had fun trying. She actually really enjoyed the rice cereal but when I started feeding her applesauce she hated it. She would make the funniest sour face and not want to swallow. It was hilarious!!!!! She really loves pears, sweet potatoes, peas, and green beans. She has really got the hang of it by now and I can't seem to feed her fast enough; although she has learned how to spit it out and make a mess which I'm not to fond of. (But of course it's still cute)
Ashlyn has been scooting and army crawling around about the same time she started eating solids. Now she army crawls really really fast. She is now getting good at getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth, but she isn't quite crawling for real yet. But it will be soon enough. I can't believe how fast they grow up! She is also really good with her hands, she can pick up things off the floor and put them in her mouth. So I have to really keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't choke on anything. :( She loves her daddy so much when he gets home and picks her up she grabbs his hair and gives him a big slobbery kiss on the forhead. It is way funny!! Also her favorite toy is hour DVD holder its a stand up one, and it spins, and holds DVDs on three sides. So she crawls over to it and spins it around and pulls all of the DVDs off, at least as far as she can reach. I was picking them up at least 6 times a day. I finally got to where I just leave them until she goes down for a nap then put them away. That way I only have to pick them up 3 times. She is such a good baby and very observant she doesn't miss a thing. Although She does give me attitude when I take something away she is playing with, she squeals at me then starts to cry. Oh boy here we go!!! lol We took Ashlyn on her first bike ride. We borrowed my sisters baby seat and hooked it on to our tandem bike and went for a little stroll she seemed to enjoy it. I'm sure we looked real cute too. We had a good time

Matt is starting softball tournaments and leagues, he loves it so much. Whenever it is good enough weather to go outside we have to go throw the softball, which is fine with me. He is staying busy with work and he is also helping with the little league now. He is the type that doesn't like to sit around he has to be involved with something. I'm glad he has things he loves to do. At least he's not lazy right!
As far as I go I am having a great time being a stay at home mom. I love spending the day playing and taking care of Ashlyn and my home. The days get a little long but now that it is starting to warm up I am looking forward to getting outside and doing more.
Well that is what has been going on in a nut shell I hope you enjoy the picks.
